As reported by the motoryzacja.interia.pl portal, the BBS company is struggling with serious problems. Some time ago, documents were filed with the court, according to which its bankruptcy proceedings are to begin. Interestingly, this is not the first time such a step has been taken. It happened several times before, more precisely in 2007, 2010, 2020 and even in 2023. Ultimately, the company has so far emerged unscathed. All because of investors who were ready to save it. As it turns out, it will be similar this time too.

The BBS company was founded by Heinrich Baumgartner and Klaus Brand in Schiltach, Germany. Its name was derived from their surnames and the first letter of the town. It manufactures light metal rims, which are most often used for car tuning and motor sports, including Formula 1.

New BBS investor. Who is he?

Despite filing bankruptcy proceedings, everything indicates that the company will survive this time too. There is a new investor ready to help. It is ISH Management Services, which is backed by the Turkish IS holding company employing over 20 thousand people. The German portal “Auto, motor und sport” reported in June that BBS had transferred its trademarks and distribution rights to the company. According to the data provided, the buyer plans to keep all jobs and has announced extensive investments.
