Actress Priyanka Chopra has spoken about ‘inhuman’ behavior in Bollywood, revealing that a film director asked to see her underwear on the sets.
Talking about the early days of her career as an actress in the Indian film industry, Priyanka, 40, spoke about an awkward situation she faced.
In an interview with New York-based fashion magazine The Zoo Report, Priyanka said: ‘This may have been in 2002 or 2003. (In a movie) I was playing an undercover agent where I was seducing a man, obviously when girls are undercover agents they have to do that but I was told ( (When I do the scene of seducing a boy) I have to take off all the clothes one by one.’
She further said that she wanted to wear some clothes under the clothes but the filmmaker said ‘No, I want to see her underwear otherwise why would anyone come to watch this film.’
Priyanka added: ‘He (the director) didn’t say that to me (directly) but said it to my stylist in front of me. It was a very inhumane moment. It was a feeling that I was nothing but how I could be used, that my art didn’t matter, that the work I did didn’t matter.’
