Another resolution to postpone the general elections on February 8 has been submitted to the Senate Secretariat, the resolution has been submitted by Senator Hilal-ur-Rehman, acting chairman of the Senate for Saffron. According to the resolution, there is a sense of deprivation among the voters and hopefuls of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the date of election in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is proving to be inappropriate. The resolution demanded that the general elections be postponed to a suitable date instead of February 8.

It should be noted that the resolution submitted today to postpone the general elections is the third such attempt.

It was further stated that the Senate urges the Election Commission to give sympathetic consideration to the peaceful conduct of the elections and delay the conduct of the elections for up to 3 months due to the security issues being faced.

It should be remembered that earlier on January 5, the Senate had unanimously approved the resolution to postpone the general elections scheduled for February 8 in the country.

It should be noted that only 14 members were present in the Senate at the time of approval of the resolution while Muslim League (N) Senator Afnanullah Khan and Caretaker Information Minister Murtaza Solangi opposed the resolution.
