media are impartial –

An appeal for impartiality in the media’s reporting of the conflict in the Middle East. It comes from the Jewish Community of Milan, one of the most important in Italy, in the aftermath of the massacre in northern Israel. “In the past 9 months, Hezbollah has fired at least 7,000 rockets, missiles and drones toward Israel, killing 40 Israelis and forcing the evacuation of over 100,000 people from their homes,” David Blei, communications delegate for the Jewish Community of Milan, said in a statement. “This latest massacre in which children died while innocently playing soccer is just the latest example of how information in our country is too biased toward the cartel hostile to the Jewish State.”

“Never before has the State of Israel been in such danger and attacked on all fronts. It is obvious that Hezbollah’s attack is part of a strategy of tension fueled by Iran, which has already affected France and could hit Italy,” Blei writes. “For this reason, we hope that a sense of responsibility will accompany the Italian media in addressing the Middle Eastern issue, since the price for partial and militant information could be very high. Information must not lend itself to hate campaigns, and I am certain that what happened in northern Israel will lead all media outlets to a greater sense of responsibility.”
