As part of the training of community reporters that the Diario de Los Andes team has been carrying out in the communities, the Infocitizenship workshop was successfully held for residents of Monte Carmelo on Thursday, July 25.

A group of community leaders met at the cultural center to receive training on how to become community reporters, in addition to being instructed on the importance of verifying sources before sharing information, and the negative impact that fake news has.

Yesenia Daboín, one of the workshop participants, expressed her gratitude to the Diario de Los Andes team for the training she received.

“They taught us how to present news and the importance of verifying sources when faced with fake news,” said Daboín.

In this way, Diario de Los Andes continues to promote the importance of community reporting, providing strategies and tools to combat misinformation in vulnerable communities.
