A desperate move or a stroke of genius? We will find out in May 2026, when we leave cinemas after Avengers: Doomsdaya new Marvel concept after the fiasco related to the actor playing the role of Kang, Jonathan Majors. Yes, because in multiverses anything is possible. This time Robert Downey Jr. will play Doctor Doomathe iconic antagonist of the Fantastic Four and the self-proclaimed smartest man on Earth. At this point, we have no idea if Tony Stark’s character will be involved in any way, but one thing is for sure. The announcement at San Diego Comic-Con caused a lot of buzz and it will certainly renew interest in the MCU for many people.

The directors of the previous Avengers films are also returning

It is worth noting that the upcoming two avenger movies have been pushed back a bit. Avengers: Doomsday we will see in May 2026, and a year later we will watch Avengers: Secret Wars. Both projects will be directed by the Russo brothers, who are responsible for Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame.

if not Deadpool & Wolverinethen perhaps such a set will save the MCU from completely falling out of the pop culture zeitgeist. We will wait impatiently, although – at least for me – with the last frame Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.3something has clearly ended.
