Tragic Flooding Incident in New Delhi Coaching Center Leads to Student Deaths; Families Offered Compensation
New Delhi: Following the tragic incident in the basement of a coaching center in Old Rajendra Nagar, where three students drowned, the coaching center has offered compensation. The Rao IAS Academy Circle has now proposed to give 50 lakh rupees as compensation to each of the deceased student’s families. Mohit Saraf, the lawyer for the coaching institute, presented this proposal to the students who have been protesting for the past four days over the deaths.

First 25 lakh… the remaining upon CEO’s release

While speaking to reporters, Saraf stated that the institute has proposed to pay the deceased student’s families 50 lakh rupees in two installments. He said, “We are offering 50 lakh rupees to the family of each student who lost their life. 25 lakh rupees will be paid immediately, and the remaining 25 lakh will be given when the institute’s CEO, Abhishek, is released.” Lawyer Saraf also mentioned that they would be able to arrange the funds for the payment of the remaining amount. He added, “I have also promised that the payment of the next installment will be made within six months… different people have different expectations; I am just a messenger.”

Coaching institutes sealed

On July 27, three students died due to waterlogging in the basement of a coaching institution located in Old Rajendra Nagar, Delhi. The police have registered a case and initiated an investigation into the matter. They have arrested five individuals, including the coaching center owner, Abhishek Gupta. Additionally, the Municipal Corporation of Delhi has sealed nearly 20 coaching institutions operating in basements across the capital.

Meanwhile, furious students have been protesting continuously for the past five days. The municipal corporation has stated that they are working actively to ensure that such incidents do not occur in the future. They are ensuring that similar incidents do not happen not only in Rajendra Nagar but across the entire capital. They are continuously working to prevent any kind of negligence.
