Acting Head of the Indonesian Capital City Authority (IKN) Basuki Hadimuljono, reported on the progress of the IKN development project to President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) on the President’s first day of work at the Garuda Palace, IKN.
According to Basuki, President Jokowi gave several important directives, one of which was to ensure that the community did not feel marginalized or displaced by this development project.
“The President asked that no residents feel marginalized, neglected, or even evicted,” explained Basuki in a press conference at the Garuda Palace, IKN, North Penajam Paser, East Kalimantan, Monday, July 29, 2024.
Basuki emphasized that the directive would be implemented by the Deputy for Social, Cultural, and Community Empowerment of OIKN, Alimuddin, with a focus on increasing community participation.
In addition, the President emphasized that the IKN must be an example of efficient government management. The licensing process for investment in the IKN must be carried out quickly.
“All permits and related processes must be faster, and this will be a model for other urban governance,” he stressed.
