Asuncion, IP.- The National Customs Directorate (DNA) closed the first month of the year with a new monthly revenue surplus and a historic income record, according to data from the institution’s Sofia Computer System.
The collection in January of this year climbed to 627,793,965,546 guaraníes, which is 21,707 million higher than in January of last year, when it reached 606,086,862,563.
The amount reached in this first month of the year also represents the highest level of income achieved in January in customs history, compared to the collections of the same month in recent years.
The significant improvement in DNA’s collection capacity, despite the many setbacks and emerging contingency situations, is evident in the 16 months of monthly surplus recorded since September 2013.
Customs closed 2014 with an annual surplus, with a record accumulated value of 8 trillion 61.396 billion guaraníes, which represents an increase of 10.41 percent compared to the previous year, when it reached a total of 7 trillion 301.086 billion guaraníes.
