Karol G, a Colombian singer who recently concluded her world tour Mañana Será Bonito, expressed her concern about the political crisis in Venezuela, which has been the scene of protests since last Monday, following the presidential elections in which the National Electoral Council (CNE) proclaimed Nicolás Maduro the winner.

The 33-year-old artist, whose real name is Carolina Giraldo and who last March gave two sold-out concerts at the Monumental de Caracas-Simón Bolívar stadium, expressed her regret for the arrests and deaths of some citizens during the demonstrations of opponents of the ruling party who reject the results issued by the CNE and claim that Edmundo González, the candidate of the Democratic Unity Roundtable (MUD) backed by the leader María Corina Machado of Vente Venezuela (VV), was the winner in the voting process of July 28.

“I love you Venezuela. You hurt me too much,” wrote the leading exponent of reggaeton today in a story published on her account @karolg, where she has 70.1 million followers.

The singer-songwriter, who gained worldwide fame with the hit “Tusa” that she released in 2019 with the collaboration of Trinidadian rapper Nicky Minaj, also hinted that she does not agree with the repression of police and military agencies against opposition citizens who are only exercising their right to protest in the streets of different Venezuelan entities.

“You don’t deserve this anymore (Venezuela). You deserve to be free,” added the lady who maintains a special bond with the country where Simón Bolívar was born, because it was one of the first nations where he was able to show his musical talent.
