Families from Central, Caaguazú and Cordillera exhibit fresh produce from the countryside in San Lorenzo

Asuncion, IP Agency.- Small producers from the three departments are taking part in the Family Farming Fair this Tuesday on the esplanade of the Marketing Department, in Mariscal Estigarribia near Saturio Ríos, San Lorenzo, from 06:00 hours, until stocks run out. The products are brought directly from the producer’s farm to the consumer’s table, without intermediaries.

It is promoted by the Government of Paraguay, through technical departments of the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock, in cooperation with the Itaipú Binational Entity, with the aim of promoting the development and dynamism of the productivity of rural families in the country.

It benefits 242 families and 19 organizations from the Central, Caaguazú and Cordillera departments.

The exhibitors offer quality fresh products at a fair price, such as Paraguay cheese at G. 32,000 per kilo, pork, suckling pig, goat, sheep, home-made chicken, duck, home-made eggs, corn and corn flour. Also, red beans, honey, peanuts, peky butter beans, broad beans, peky beans and starch at G. 10,000 per kilo.

In addition to tomatoes at G. 10,000 per kilo, peppers, cassava, sweet potatoes at G. 3,000 per kilo, green vegetables in general at G. 1,500 per bunch, seasonal fruits, grains in general, a variety of typical and traditional foods, crafts, flowers and plants, among other products.
