Spar replaces paper price labels with electronic ones

The food retailer Spar is increasingly replacing paper price labels with electronic ones. By the end of the year, prices in over 200 stores will be digitally labelled, Spar announced on Wednesday. This is intended to ease the burden on sales staff, save paper and provide customers with better information about prices, promotions and products. Electronic signs are now common in the Hofer and Lidl supermarket chains, and they are also being rolled out at Rewe (Billa, etc.).
