Remembering Erica Ash: A Talented Actress and Comedian Who Battled Cancer with Grace

Leaves a void in the film industry. Actress Erica Ash, remembered for her role in the film ‘Scary Movie’ and in the series ‘Survivor’s Remorse,’ died at the age of 46 after a long battle with cancer. The tragic news was confirmed by Diann Ash, the artist’s mother.

Moreover, she revealed that the actress departed this world surrounded by her loved ones after fighting against cancer.
 

“Erica was an incredible woman and a talented artist who touched countless lives with her sharp wit, humor, and genuine enthusiasm for life. Her memory will live on forever in our hearts,” she told TMZ.

Additionally, the mentioned media outlet reported that the family requested that, instead of flowers, donations be made in the actress’s memory to the Susan G. Komen Foundation, which aims to fight cancer.

On another note, comedian and host Loni Love also shared the sad news through her official Instagram account.

“I am saddened to confirm that my friend and fellow actress Erica Ash has passed away… Erica was talented and hilarious; whether in the show Survivor’s Remorse or Madtv, she put everything into her work. She was always there… Now she is gone… My sincere condolences to her family and fans”, she posted.

 

Who is Erica Ash? 

Erica Ash’s career began in Atlanta, Georgia, and continued at Emory University. The actress’s first success was in the show ‘The Big Gay Sketch Show,’ where she worked with Kate McKinnon, Colman Domingo, and Stephen Guarino.

The actress, born in Florida, stood out with her impersonations of celebrities such as Whoopi Goldberg, Michelle Obama, and Naomi Campbell in the final season of MadTV.

She not only worked in ‘Scary Movie’ but also in films like ‘We Have a Ghost,’ ‘In Contempt,’ ‘Uncle Drew,’ among others.
