President, Nicolas Maduroreiterated on Tuesday that the country is experiencing “an attempt at massive destabilization” that seeks to “attack the peace of the people, of the institutions, and against everything.”
During an installation of a joint meeting of the Council of State at the Miraflores Palace,
“We are facing a global attack, from imperialism, from Elon Musk, from the extremist right and drug trafficking, and they intend to seize power in a violent manner.”
He insisted that, this time, there will be no impunity and dismissed criticism from abroad of the arrests, “now they are going to say that they are political prisoners.”
He criticized the so-called commandos that were formed during the electoral campaign. “These commandos are for violence and fascism.”
“Today all social networks are conspiring to try to destabilize Venezuela,” he said.
He said the violent acts were brought under control on Monday and that “today, Tuesday, cities are taking their first steps towards normalization.”
He said that there are several people arrested for the acts of violence and that they will serve “a minimum of 15 years in prison.”
