In the eighth edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL), Quetta Gladiators were bowled out for just 110 runs due to the devastating bowling of Multan Sultans fast bowler Ehsanullah.
In the third match of the league being played at Multan Cricket Stadium, Multan Sultans won the toss and decided to bowl first, which proved to be correct.
In the second over of the innings, Martin Guptill returned to the pavilion after scoring only seven runs, while Abdul Bengalzai also walked after scoring only one run, giving the wicket to Abbas Afridi.
Captain Sarfraz Ahmed had an easy catch drop at zero but he could not capitalize on it and was bowled by Ehsanullah’s 150 kmph delivery.
Gladiators’ woes were further compounded when Ehsanullah dismissed Jess Roy in his next over, then dismissed Iftikhar Ahmed on the very next ball, leaving the visitors five wickets short for a total score of 46.
Umar Akmal and Mohammad Nawaz stopped the streak of falling wickets for a while and put on a 20-run partnership for the sixth wicket, but before the duo could add more runs to the partnership, Nawaz, who scored 14 runs, LBW and returned to the pavilion.
Umar Akmal also could not bear the parting of his teammate and on the very first ball of the next over, Ehsanullah walked away, who bowled Naseem Shah and took the fifth victim in the innings.
In the closing overs, Naseem Shah and Muhammad Hafeez played some big shots, but despite this, Quetta Gladiators were bowled out for 110 runs before an over, Hasnain scored 22 runs and Hafeez scored 18 runs.
Six players of Quetta Gladiators could not even enter double figures while Jason Roy was the most successful batsman with 27 runs.
On behalf of Multan Sultans, Ehsanullah took five wickets for just 12 runs while doing devastating bowling while Samin Gul and Abbas Afridi also took two wickets each.
