The dispute over the ownership of 30 acres of land (approximately 100 kanals) is between the tribes living in two villages of Bushehra and according to the authorities, the conflict that started here six days ago has spread to different areas of Karam district.

Officials said on Sunday that after a five-day clash in Bushehra, a ceasefire was agreed between the parties on Sunday and the fronts were cleared and police, FC and army personnel were deployed there.

Kurram district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is situated on the border of Afghanistan. Earlier, a major conflict in Kurram district that started in 2007 lasted for several years and was ended in 2011 with the help of a jirga of tribal elders.

Last year, the Home Department of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa issued a report on land disputes in Karam, according to which there are land disputes at eight places in Karam district and these disputes are not new but have existed since the partition of India.

A government commission has also been formed to resolve these disputes, but according to the residents of the area, the commission is not serious in resolving disputes and such clashes are seen every day.
