Deputy Chairman of Commission III of the Indonesian House of Representatives, Habiburokhman, even hurled curses after finding out the facts about the condition of the body of Dini Sera Afrianti, the victim of the Ronald Tannur assault case, as explained during an audience meeting with the victim’s family at the Parliament Complex, Senayan, Jakarta, Monday.

“Astagfirullahaladzim, oh my God, this is so barbaric,” said Habiburokhman, who led the meeting.

The curse was uttered after the attorney for the family of the late Dini Sera Afrianti, Dimas Yemahura Alfarauq, presented a photo of the victim before the autopsy which showed traces of the defendant’s car tires on the victim’s arm.

“This is the condition of the body before the autopsy was performed,” said Dimas while showing a related photo.

Deputy Chairman of Commission III of the Indonesian House of Representatives, Ahmad Sahroni, also issued angry curses over the facts of the trial of the assault case that resulted in death as conveyed by the legal counsel for the victim’s family.

“The judge is a jerk,” said Sahroni, who also led the meeting.

The panel of judges at the Surabaya District Court acquitted Ronald Tannur because the victim was deemed to have died from alcohol and not because of the abuse carried out by the son of the inactive member of the Indonesian House of Representatives from the National Awakening Party (PKB) faction, Edward Tannur.

“It was also asked by the panel of judges during the forensic expert examination trial, I happened to be present at that time. So when I was present, it was asked whether there was alcohol content in the victim’s body? Yes. Did it cause death, the forensic expert said it did not cause death, what caused death was severe bleeding in the stomach, chest and liver,” explained Dimas Yemahura.

Previously, Dimas Yemahura explained that the results of the post-mortem examination of the late Dini Sera Afrianti carried out by a forensic specialist doctor stated that the victim’s death was caused by severe bleeding due to lacerations caused by a blunt object.

“The cause of death was due to multiple lacerations to the liver due to blunt force trauma, resulting in severe bleeding. If related to the chronology and reconstruction of the father, in the chronology and reconstruction, there was indeed a crush on the victim’s shoulder, which indeed crushed almost half of the victim’s body. So, if it is said there was a bleeding wound on the stomach to the chest, that is indeed true,” he said.

On Wednesday (24/7), the panel of judges at the Surabaya District Court, East Java, acquitted Gregorius Ronald Tannur, the son of former member of the Indonesian House of Representatives Edward Tannur, of all charges in the assault case that resulted in the death of his girlfriend, Dini Sera Afrianti.

Previously, Surabaya Police have set Article 338 of the Criminal Code on murder against suspect Ronald Tannur who took the life of his lover. Ronald was charged with Article 351 and 359 of the Criminal Code on abuse and negligence with a maximum sentence of 12 years in prison.

Police investigations revealed that the assault occurred after the couple spent the night at an entertainment venue in the West Surabaya area.

In addition, the PKB Central Executive Board has also officially suspended PKB Faction DPR member Edward Tannur from his membership in Commission IV of the Indonesian House of Representatives due to the case involving his son. (Ant/Z-7)
