Turkey – Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan stressed that his country must strengthen its power “in order to deter Israel from its practices against the Palestinians.”
This came in a speech he delivered yesterday, Sunday, during his participation in a meeting of the Justice and Development Party branch in the northeastern province of Rize.
Erdogan said in this context: “Just as we entered Karabakh and Libya, we can do the same with these people. There is nothing preventing that. We just have to be strong to take these steps.”
Regarding the invitation to Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas to deliver a speech in the Turkish parliament, Erdogan said: “We invited him, but unfortunately Mahmoud Abbas was unable to give us a positive response.”
Erdogan stressed that the Turkish parliament is “open to anyone who is on the right path.”
Since October 7, Israel has been waging a devastating war on Gaza with American support, leaving more than 130,000 Palestinians dead and wounded, most of them children and women, and more than 10,000 missing amid massive destruction and famine that has claimed the lives of dozens of children, in one of the worst humanitarian disasters in the world.
Tel Aviv continues the war, ignoring the UN Security Council resolution to stop it immediately, and the International Court of Justice’s orders to take measures to prevent acts of genocide and improve the dire humanitarian situation in Gaza.
