EBY promotes onion cultivation in Ñeembucú

Asuncion, IP Agency.- The Yacyretá Binational Entity (EBY) delivered onion bulb seedlings to producers in the district of General Díaz, in Ñeembucú, in order to promote other crops and generate alternative sources of income and consumption.

In addition to the donation of onion seedlings, the farmers present received medicinal variety seedlings, in an effort to diversify production and provide new income for families in rural areas.

After the delivery, the farmers, guided by the technicians, began growing onions on a small plot, which will serve as a sample for producers in the area.

The activity took place at the Loma Guazú company with the presence of farmers, authorities from the binational company, the governor of the aforementioned department and officials from the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock (MAG).

During the launch of the plan, the mayor of General Díaz, Carlos Romero, highlighted the support of the binational company for the expansion and improvement of the drinking water plant and the approval of the Director for the continuation of the construction work on social housing in Loma Guazú.

Governor Víctor Hugo Fornerón stressed that, thanks to teamwork, the result of instructions from President Santiago Peña and Vice President of the Republic, Pedro Alliana, a better future is being built in Ñeembucú.

He announced the purchase of motor cultivators in conjunction with EBY to support the efforts of producers and provide them with the tools to optimize production. He also mentioned the achievement of full coverage of food in educational establishments in the department, starting in August. He explained that even dinner is guaranteed for students who attend school at night.
