Electric Vehicles of the Caribbean (VEDCA) wants to take an important step in the Cuban automotive industry by developing the first electric car model produced on the island.
According to the director of VEDCA, the company I already started advanced testing with small and medium-powered electric cars, with the aim of launching a model before the end of the year.

The electric vehicle, which is being prepared for the Cuban market and will come from China, will have an approximate range of 300 kilometers..

Since its establishment in 2019 as an international economic partnership between Chinese company Tianjin Dongxing and Cuban company Minerva, VEDCA has been dedicated to the production and assembly of electric vehicles.
Initially focused on electric motorcycles and bicycles, market demand has led to a change in strategy, now prioritizing the production of electric tricycles, this executive acknowledged.
The company is currently preparing new shipments of electric cars from China, incorporating adjustments based on the results obtained during specific tests for the Cuban market.

The production line includes various models of electric motorcycles and tricycles, as well as children’s vehicles. Notable tricycles include the C-400, with a load capacity of 400 kg and without a cabin, and the C-800A, with a capacity of 800 kg and equipped with a cabin and windshield.
