The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, Dmytro Kuleba, called on the head of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, John Lee, to deprive Russia and its companies of the opportunity to circumvent sanctions.
As reported by Ukrinform, this was announced following the meeting in Hong Kong Foreign Policy Department of Ukraine.
It is noted that the parties discussed the creation of new opportunities for trade and investment between Ukraine and Hong Kong in the context of the recovery of our country.
Kuleba called on the Hong Kong Administration to take measures to prevent Russia and Russian companies from using Hong Kong to circumvent the restrictive measures introduced for Russian aggression against Ukraine.
The head of the Foreign Ministry emphasized that these restrictive measures are necessary to weaken Russia’s potential to wage war and kill people in Ukraine. He emphasized that Russian machinations should not tarnish Hong Kong’s reputation as a highly developed liberal economy based on unwavering respect for the rule of law.
Kuleba also discussed the issue of protecting the rights of Ukrainian citizens on the territory of Hong Kong.

As part of the visit, the minister held a separate meeting with representatives of Hong Kong business, during which he discussed the prospects of cooperation with Ukrainian companies and investments, in particular in the context of recovery and reconstruction of Ukraine.
As reported by Ukrinform, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, Dmytro Kuleba, began a visit to the People’s Republic of China on Tuesday. He held talks with his Chinese counterpart Wang Yi and noted that Beijing agreed with the need for a just and lasting peace in Ukraine, not its illusions.
