Irfan Bhatti, 46, who lives in Norway, is suspected of planning the attack, but he left Norway and went to Pakistan before the shooting.

Although there is no extradition treaty between Norway and Pakistan, the Pakistani authorities accepted Oslo’s request.

Norway’s Minister of Justice Emily Anger Mahal told reporters on Friday that ‘Irfan Bhatti is currently on board the plane under the supervision of the Norwegian police.’

Norwegian police say Bhatti, who has denied any involvement in the incident and has opposed his extradition to Norway, will be detained upon arrival in Oslo.

Police say Bhatti will be called to testify during the Mutapur trial.

Bhatti’s lawyer, John Christian Alden, expressed outrage that his client had been extradited to Norway before his case was decided in the Supreme Court of Pakistan.

“This way of doing so calls into question respect for the law and international legal norms,” said John Christian Alden.
