the latest poll on swing states –

Former US President Donald Trump is ahead of Vice President Kamala Harris in four out of five swing states, according to a new survey conducted by Emerson College and The Hill ahead of the November 5 presidential election. The poll shows Trump and Harris tied at 47 percent in Wisconsin. The Republican candidate, however, remains ahead in Arizona (49 to 44 percent), Georgia (48 to 46), Michigan (46 to 45) and Pennsylvania (48 to 46). These are not unbridgeable gaps for the vice president, who only entered the race for the Democratic nomination last Sunday, July 21, after the withdrawal of the incumbent president, Joe Biden.

The survey also shows that support for Harris is higher than Biden had a month ago in all five swing states: by four points in Arizona and Wisconsin, by five points in Georgia, and by three points in Michigan and Pennsylvania. According to the executive director of the Emerson College polling center, Spencer Kimball, Harris seems to have already recovered the votes lost by the Democratic Party after Biden’s disastrous presidential debate against Trump on June 27. “The numbers,” Kimball observes, “reflect levels of support similar to those in favor of Biden in March.” Will the current number two of the White House tenant be able to? This is the question that is most animating the summer debate.
