On Monday afternoon, Nicolás Maduro assured from the headquarters of the National Electoral Council (CNE) that a coup plan is currently being developed against him after the announcement of the First bulletin with the results of the presidential elections.
“An attempt is being made to impose a coup d’état in Venezuela, once again, of a fascist and counterrevolutionary nature”he explained from the headquarters of the Electoral Power.
For Maduro, it isThis is the same dynamic as in the past and he pointed out that he experienced a similar situation in 2019.with opposition figures, added as protagonists of this alleged attempt.
The official leader explained that “the people want peace”; however, he stated that there are “elites filled with a counterrevolutionary, fascist project, tied to the American empire.”
“I tell the conspirators, those involved and those who support this operation against Venezuelan democracy that we already know the story and this time there will be no weakness. This time in Venezuela the Constitution will be respected, the law will be respected and neither hatred, nor fascism, nor lies nor manipulation will prevail.”said.
His words were given during the proclamation ceremony from the CNE, the organization that announced his victory in the elections held on July 28; however, He did so after revealing the first bulletin and without sharing the figures at each voting center.
