The Carter Center issued a statement on Monday, July 29, calling on the National Electoral Council (CNE) to publish detailed results of the presidential election “immediately.”

“The Carter Center calls on the National Electoral Council of Venezuela, known by its acronym CNE, to immediately publish the results of the presidential elections at the electoral college level,” the international organization said.

The organization sent a Technical mission to Venezuela to observe the presidential elections on July 28 at the invitation of the CNEwhich is why they require transparent and detailed results to offer an impartial evaluation of the process.

The information contained in the polling station results forms transmitted to the CNE is critical to our assessment and important to all Venezuelans,” the Carter Center added.

The Carter Center deployed 17 members of its observer mission to Caracas and the states of Zulia, Barinas and Carabobo to observe the July 28 presidential elections.

The mission included electoral experts from 11 countries. Jennie Lincoln, head of the organization’s observation mission, clarified that they had a limited deployment and that their evaluation would focus mainly on electoral administration.

“We are here to work, to evaluate the electoral process, to evaluate whether it meets international standards,” Lincoln told the EFE news agency on July 28.

The Carter Center is scheduled to hold a press conference on Tuesday, July 30, with the first results of its observation process. The report is expected to be based on the Venezuelan legal framework and international standards for presidential elections.

This institution had previously sent observation missions to Venezuela. Its observers participated in the mayoral and gubernatorial elections held in 2021.
