Multan Sultans were defeated by Karachi Kings by 66 runs

Chasing a target of 168 runs, Multan Sultans were defeated by Karachi Kings by a huge margin of 66 runs in the 14th match of Pakistan Super League (PSL).

In the match played at National Stadium Karachi, Multan Sultans captain Muhammad Rizwan won the toss and decided to field first.

Karachi Kings set Sultans a target of 168 runs for victory. In response to the target, Multan Sultans captain Muhammad Rizwan and opener Shaan Masood opened the innings. Shaan Masood scored 25 runs and lost his wicket on the ball of Akif Javed, while Shoaib Malik guided Riley Russo to the pavilion for 7 runs.

David Miller, who came to accompany Mohammad Rizwan, could not provide a good innings and was caught by Tabrez Shamsi after scoring 7 runs. Mohammad Rizwan scored 29 runs from Multan. Multan team was bowled out for 101 runs chasing 168 runs.

Tabriz Shamsi and Shoaib Malik took three wickets each from Karachi Kings.

Karachi Kings opened the innings when opener James Vince was dismissed for 27 runs, after which Matthew Wade and Tayyab Tahir added 109 runs in the second wicket partnership.

Tayyab Tahir scored a half-century on debut and was dismissed for 65 runs, after which Matthew Wade tried to push the score forward with Shoaib Malik, but Matthew Wade scored 46 runs and was bowled by Ehsanullah.

Captain Imad Wasim scored 14 runs and Shoaib Malik remained not out by scoring 10 runs.
