CNE proclaims Nicolás Maduro as president (+Details)

The National Electoral Council (CNE) proclaimed and awarded Nicolás Maduro as president of Venezuela for the period 2025-2031.

During a television broadcast, the president of the CNE, Elvis Amoroso, proclaimed Nicolás Maduro as president of Venezuela with 5 million 150 thousand 92 votes.

According to the results announced by the CNE, Maduro, candidate for the Gran Polo Patriótico (GPP), was reelected as president with 5,150,092 votes. Meanwhile, the candidate for the Plataforma Unitaria, Edmundo González, obtained 4,445,978 votes.

Nicolás Maduro said at the event from the CNE that “I assume the mandate of the people to be their President and lead the country to peace and prosperity.”

For his part, Amoroso stressed that “I extend my recognition to all the International and National Monitoring Missions that are accompanying us, asking them on behalf of the CNE to be spokespersons for what they experienced in Venezuela during these days.”
