Pakistani athletes featured with silver medals

Pakistani athletes showcased their prowess by winning a silver medal during the 7th Asian Ju-Jitsu Championship 2023 held under the auspices of the Asian Ju-Jitsu Union (JJAU) in Bangkok, Thailand from 25 to 28 February 2023.

According to Pakistan Jujitsu Federation (PJJF) General Secretary Tariq Ali, there were a total of 581 entries from 30 countries in this mega event, while Pakistan fielded only 3 athletes due to lack of funds.

Isra Wasim and Kainat Arif won the silver medal in the duo women category and Dilawar Khan Sanan and Isra Wasim secured the fifth position in the duo mix category.

Pakistan Jujitsu Federation also received the Best Third National Federation Award in Do Category in Asia.

He said that PJJF has heartily congratulated our talented players for this achievement, who have always made us proud at every international forum. By the grace and grace of Allah Almighty, our athletes have won these medals.

He also appreciated the hard work and commitment of the PJJF coaches who trained the team and improved their skills and our champions have made us proud once again. Pakistani players outclassed and defeated all their best Asian teams in these categories.

He added that India had 30 entries in the championship while Kazakhstan and Thailand had 70 and 55 entries respectively. All possible facilities are being provided to their teams by the authorities.

Pakistan, on the other hand, held their title as Asian champions from 2006 to 2017, despite the lack of facilities or finances, still bringing home medals in every event they participate in, which is quite incredible.
