Huawei launched its own operating system to compete with Android

After the US sanctions, Chinese smartphone company Huawei has launched its operating system “Harmony OS” for developers to compete with Google Android and Apple iOS, but it will be launched on smartphones next year i.e. 2021.

During its developers conference in Shenzhen, Huawei said that the operating system is available today for developers of smartwatches, cars and TVs, but that the operating system for smartphone developers will be launched later this year.

Remember that in 2019, Huawei announced the launch of its own operating system, named “Harmony OS”, to compete with the American company Google’s Android OS.

Huawei CEO Richard Yu says that the operating system’s ability to work across platforms makes it unique from Google Android and Apple iOS, while it will be completely open source (meaning any company or developer can use it). will be able to use the code).

He told the developers that you will be able to develop your apps and use them on all devices.

Remember that Google’s Android operating system is also open source, but Google’s commercial apps like YouTube and Play Store are not available in it. This Android system is currently being used in Amazon Fire tablets and Huawei’s P40 pro plus smartphone.

The main reason for the launch of this operating system by Huawei is the restrictions imposed on Huawei by the United States, due to which Google cannot provide its services to Huawei.

It’s not yet clear what benefits Huawei’s Harmony OS will offer users over Android.
