Several users on social media reported irregularities during the entry of polling station members from different voting centers for the elections on July 28.

Citizen María Beatriz Sequera López said that the coordinator of the National Electoral Council (CNE) at the Simón Bolívar school in Araure, Portuguesa state, did not allow her to enter the voting center. The representative of the electoral body allegedly indicated that she had already set up the voting table with “its temporary members.”

“I have been here since 4:00 am and when I arrived, they (injured members) were already there,” wrote Sequera on his X account, along with a video in which he mentioned the alleged irregularity.

In Nueva Esparta state, users reported that at 9:20 am the doors of the Juana Méndez Penoth school electoral center had not been opened, because they were not allowing the table members to enter.

Users reported that table number four at the Salazar Brito school in Margarita had not been enabled due to the lack of table members.

Likewise, from Los Teques, Miranda state, they reported that the members of the polling station accredited by the CNE were denied entry to the Roque Pinto Industrial Technical School.

Complaints about obstacles to witnesses at the polling station

Delsa Solórzano, the main national witness before the National Electoral Board for the PUD, denounced that several table witnesses of the Democratic Unity Roundtable (MUD) candidate, Edmundo González, have been prevented from entering their respective voting centers.

“This is an incident that occurred at a percentage of tables that has been decreasing as the minutes go by (…) even at this time there are some voting centers where witnesses are not allowed to enter,” said Solórzano from the opposition campaign headquarters on July 28.

At 9:39 am, users on social media reported that citizens at the Nuestra Señora Del Pilar school in Araure, Portuguesa, demanded that authorities allow the entry of opposition polling station witnesses.

A similar situation occurred at the Juan Cancio Rodríguez voting center in the Arismendi municipality, in Nueva Esparta.

“We were here before 3:00 am, the main witnesses representing the opposition party arrived, they told us that the polling station members were already inside and that the polling stations were set up,” denounced María Eugenia Luna, a polling station witness, in an interview with VPI.

Complaints about scanning ID cards

Through the social network X, users have also reported that members of the Plan República are requesting the scanning of voters’ identity cards.

This situation is believed to have occurred at the Campo Solo Educational Unit polling station in San Diego (Carabobo); the Venezuelan Federation of Teachers in the La Morera sector, in San Juan de los Morros (Guárico); at the La Negrita EB, Guzmán Guillermo parish (Falcón); and at the Nuestra Señora de Lourdes School (Carabobo).

The leader Delsa Solórzano clarified that the ID card should only be given to the members of the table. She denounced that in some centers they have asked for the identification document in previous steps to “slow down the process.”

“The voter’s ID card is only given to the member when he or she goes to vote. There is no prior check. The members of the Plan República are only there to guard the voting center,” Solórzano said.
