The hosts Lahore Qalandars won the toss and invited Multan Sultans to bowl in the final match of the eighth edition of the event at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore, which was full of spectators.

When Qalandars started the innings, Tahir Baig, the hero of the previous match, appeared in form this time as well and took an aggressive approach and played an innings of 30 runs off 18 balls.

To break the opening partnership on this occasion, captain Mohammad Rizwan brought in the most successful bowler in his event, Ehsanullah, who lived up to the captain’s confidence and took the wicket in the first over.

Fakhar Zaman looked a little tired but he put up a partnership of 57 runs with Abdullah Shafiq for the second wicket, he became Osama Mir’s wicket after scoring 38 runs.

The score had reached 111 when Qalandars suffered three consecutive shocks and Osama Mir, after Sam Billings on two balls in a row, dismissed Ahsan Hafeez on the very next ball, while Khushdil Shah took the wickets of Sikandar Raza in the next over. Bakhir brought great success to his team.

On this occasion, in the important final match, Shaheen Shah Afridi himself decided to bat at the upper numbers and by batting aggressively, the bowlers of Sultans forgot the line and length.

Abdullah played an innings of 65 runs off 40 balls with the help of two sixes and 8 fours while Shaheen Shah Afridi played an unbeaten innings of 44 runs off 15 balls decorated with 5 towering sixes.

Lahore Qalandars scored 85 runs in the last 5 overs.

Chasing the target, Multan Sultans also started the innings aggressively, with both openers targeting Shaheen’s bowling in particular and scoring 36 runs in their first two overs.

To stop the flow of runs, Qalandar’s captain David Wiese was brought in to bowl and he bowled Usman Khan who made 18 runs off 12 balls and proved the choice of captain right.

Rizwan was then joined by Riley Russo and he batted brilliantly to form a partnership of 64 runs with Rizwan in which the South African batsman contributed 52 runs.

Rashid Khan ended the innings of Russo with 7 fours and two sixes and gave his team a major victory.

The Afghan spinner scored 122 for his team when he ended Rizwan’s 34-run innings thanks to David Wiese’s brilliant catch on the boundary.

Tim David and Kieron Pollard’s partnership lasted for 24 runs, but the run-rate continued to increase during this period and due to this pressure, first Pollard and then Tim David also returned to the pavilion.

Shaheen conceded 51 runs in his quota of four overs but also dismissed Anwar Ali and Usama Mir in two consecutive balls in his last over, making it almost impossible for Sultans to come back into the match.

In the last two overs, Sultans needed 35 runs to win, but Khushdil Shah and Abbas Afridi scored 22 runs in this over bowled by Haris Rauf and made the match sensational.

In the last over of the match, Sultans needed 13 runs to become champions, but despite their best efforts, Sultans could score only 11 runs and thus Lahore Qalandars won the match by one run after a thrilling match and became champions once again. Received the honor of
