The opening ceremony of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games is scheduled for this Friday, July 26 to officially launch the 33rd Olympiad, and it promises to be grandiose.
It is an event that will remain in the history of Olympic Gameswithout a doubt. For the first time in history, a opening ceremony will be organized outside a stadium, on the Seine in the heart of Paris, in this case.
While the rain of the last few weeks, causing the Parisian river to flow too fast, could have led to a plan B, the promise of Paris 2024 is about to be held. The only unknown will be the weather, which, for the moment, announces gray weather but no rain.
Security challenge
At the helm of Thomas Jolly, this ceremony will have another challenge, that of security. A perimeter all around the Seine has been set up for several days in the capital – between QR codes and barriers in the streets – in order to avoid any unfortunate event.
To do this, some 45,000 police officers and gendarmes will be mobilized to ensure the safety of the river procession as well as that of the more than 320,000 spectators around the Seine who have come to attend the festival.
The Paris 2024 Olympic Games ceremony will be broadcast on France 2 and Eurosport 1 from 7:30 p.m.
