The body found in the Casas de Benítez transfer does not show signs of criminality

The initial hypotheses being considered by the Civil Guard in relation to the case of the lifeless body that appeared on Wednesday in the Tajo-Segura transfer canal as it passes through Casas de Benítez suggest that it could correspond to that of a temporary agricultural worker of foreign origin, although his identity has not yet been fully confirmed by DNA or fingerprints, and there are no signs of criminality.

According to sources from the Guardia Civil, the man is believed to be between 30 and 35 years old and an autopsy will be performed to clarify the cause of death.

The report of a body floating in the canal was received at 7:53 a.m. on Wednesday. Firefighters from the Motilla del Palancar and La Roda fire stations went to the scene and rescued the body, which was a man. An emergency doctor also went to the scene and certified the death, as well as Civil Guard officers.
