The heartbreaking, dramatic news was announced by Ónodi Henrietta’s sister, Barbara Ónodi, on the Internet, and Ónodi Henrietta’s former teammate, Andrea Molnár, shared it on Facebook today.
“I am desperately asking for help to raise money for my sister, 50-year-old Henrietta Ónodi, who suffered a serious heart attack. As many of you know, Heni is a Hungarian national hero, Olympic gold and silver medalist, who was always one of the first to lend a hand and support those in need. On March 28, she was in a grocery store in Florida, in the town where she lives, shopping for her three young children when she suddenly collapsed. Heni was immediately taken to the hospital, and on the way her heart stopped several times. He was stabilized and taken to the hospital, where he was diagnosed with near-total arterial occlusion. He was immediately operated on to save his life. He is currently being treated in hospital. This unexpected event is an incredible challenge for Heni and her family, both emotionally and financially. His current condition requires long-term care and extensive rehabilitation to restore him to health. Henrietta Ónodi’s hospital rehabilitation is a huge burden
To our inquiry, Andrea Molnár said that she had not heard any news about Henrietta Ónodi for weeks, and that she was very shaken, which she also only found out about. Unfortunately, all of this is not an internet scam, it is not that someone started a collection in the name of Barbara Ónodi. Henrietta Ónodi’s former teammate, Zsuzsa Csisztu, vice-president of the International Association of Sports Journalists (AIPS), confirmed the sad news to our inquiry.
