MINISTER of Communication and Informatics (Menkominfo) Budi Arie Setiadi said that more than 19 thousand sites owned by the central and regional governments were infiltrated by online gambling (judol) ads. However, he admitted that he did not have the authority to guard every government-owned site.

Budi denied that his party did not prevent the hacking from happening. He emphasized that the one who could have prevented it was the site owner himself.
“Because if the Ministry of Communication and Information takes down the site, even the sites will be taken down, for example, which district government, the page is inserted into the title, if we take it down, the site will be taken down,” he explained.
Kominfo, said Budi, can only appeal to each agency to tighten the security system on their respective sites. In addition, he continues to try to block sites related to judol.
“We closed more than 2.6 million online gambling sites, around 6,700 bank accounts, e-wallets, and so on,” he explained. (Z-7)
