EVERTON have signed Jesper Lindstrom from Napoli on a season-long loan, Everton announced on their official website on Friday (26/7) evening. .
The Danish midfielder moved to Napoli before last season but has now joined Goodison Park with an option to make the move permanent.
The 24-year-old has 16 caps for Denmark and also won the Europa League with German club Eintracht Frankfurt in 2023.
Lindstrom is Everton manager Sean Dyche’s fourth signing of the summer transfer window, following the arrivals of Tim Iroegbunam, Iliman Ndiaye and Jack Harrison.
The signings come despite uncertainty over Everton’s ownership. A potential sale to the Friedkin Group was ruled out after Everton failed to reach an agreement with the US investors.
Led by US billionaire Dan Friedkin, the group entered an exclusive period to negotiate a sale opportunity on June 21.
However, Everton announced last week that no agreement had been reached between Friedkin and the club’s majority shareholder, Farhad Moshiri.
It is the second time in 2024 that Everton have failed to make a sale, after a deal with 777 Partners also fell through. (Ant/P-5)
