Ewa Swoboda has a reason to celebrate. And that’s even before the competition begins in Paris

The opening ceremony of the XXXIII Summer Olympic Games in Paris is scheduled for Friday evening, July 26, and for the first time in history, it will take place not in a stadium, but in an open space. More specifically, on the Seine that flows through the center of Paris. The show, which is to last four hours, will feature not only athletes, but also world-famous artists, including Canadian singer Celine Dion.

A special day for Ewa Swoboda. The Polish actress turns 27

At the moment, it is known that the official opening of this year’s edition of the quadrennial event will not include Polish volleyball players and their coach Nikola Grbić. “It was my decision that we will not take part in the opening ceremony, because everything will take a lot of time. I know that such a ceremony is something special, but we came here to play volleyball and achieve a good result. This requires proper concentration and doing everything to be effective on the court,” explained the coach of “White and Reds”, quoted by Przegląd Sportowy.

There are many indications that Polish athletes will be present at the opening ceremony, including Ewa Swoboda, who specializes in sprinting. The athlete, who comes from the Silesian Voivodeship, has much more to celebrate on July 26 than just the start of the Olympic Games. She was born on this day 27 years ago.

Ewa Swoboda has had some great months. Now she’ll fight for Olympic gold

Ewa Swoboda, like the other athletes, will not start competing at the XXXIII Summer Olympic Games in Paris until August. On August 2, during the morning session, there will be preliminaries and eliminations for the women’s 100 meters, in which the Pole will participate. The semifinals and final of the women’s race at this distance will take place the following day during the afternoon session. A few days later – to be precise on August 8 – during the morning session, there will be eliminations for the women’s 4×100 meters relay. The final in this event is scheduled for the following day.

Even if Ewa Swoboda returns to her homeland without an Olympic medal, we cannot forget the excellent performances that the Polish athlete has had this season. At the beginning of March, the sprinter won a silver medal at the World Indoor Championships in Glasgow in the 60-meter race, breaking the Polish record. In June, our athlete won a silver medal at the European Championships, which Swoboda won in the 100-meter race. Our sprinter also achieved many successes in the Diamond League. During the competition in Paris, she took third place in the 100-meter race. Only Patrizia van der Weken and Gina Bass-Bittaye were better than her at that time.
