Asuncion, IP Agency.- Fintech Day 2024 will take place in Asunción on August 16, focused on expanding the MSME market through financial inclusion, as well as supporting entrepreneurs and professionals involved in the sector.
Fintech Day Paraguay 2024, which will take place at the Paseo La Galería Events Hall, is shaping up to be a notable event, building on the success of its two previous editions, with the participation of countries in the region.
During the presentation, the Vice Minister of MSMEs of the Ministry of Industry and Commerce (MIC), Gustavo Giménez, highlighted the importance of joint collaboration between the public and private sectors for the development of the Fintech ecosystem in the country.
“This effort must be carried out jointly, with the support of technology to continue developing the Fintech ecosystem in Paraguay,” said Giménez.
He also stressed the importance of this type of event, as it allows us to learn about new technologies that are generating great progress worldwide, both for consumers and for companies, which can integrate these innovations to improve their operations.
The head of the Paraguayan Fintech Chamber, Diego García, highlighted the international participation in the event, with representatives from other Fintech chambers in Latin America, such as those of Argentina, Chile and Uruguay.
Fintech is a sector comprised of companies that use technology to improve or automate financial services and processes. This rapidly growing sector targets both consumers and businesses, offering innovative solutions for managing finances.
In Paraguay, the Paraguayan Fintech Chamber, founded in 2017, has the mission of promoting the development of entrepreneurs and companies, expanding financial services through technology. Its objective is to promote competitiveness, inclusion and financial education in the country.
To date, this sector has generated more than 5,000 jobs, as well as more than 800 professionals trained in the fintech diploma. In addition, this sector registered an investment of around USD 500 million up to January of this year, with more than USD 100 million in guarantees to the Ande and more than USD 150 million in contributions for energy consumption.
