Executives of the Central Bank of Cuba (BCC) have recently insisted on the violations of businesses that make transfers to personal bank accounts.
Specifically, the vice president of the BCC pointed out in a program on banking:
“Using a QR code associated with a personal bank account involves making a transfer between one account and another. This is an irregularity, because personal accounts should not be used for commercial transactions, and online payment is the commerce recognised by the platforms.”
In addition, added that the bonuses remain at 6% for the products and that these are “obtained in stores only by paying to the QR code of a tax account.”
That is, “if the transfer is made to a personal account, this discount is no longer obtained.”
Fiscal bank accounts in Cuba
ONAT in Cuba reminds that one of the most important steps for entrepreneurs is opening a fiscal bank account (CBF).
“This type of account simplifies the tax declaration process, as it allows easy access to the records necessary to calculate the tax contribution,” they point out in a note that all Cuban banks have shared. They also list some of the benefits of this product.
Advantages of CBF for those who accept online payments using QR code with the Transfermóvil and Enzona platforms or use POS:
- Avoid handling cash and make deposits directly into the bank, helping to reduce cash circulation.
- Ensures compliance with the payment of taxes corresponding to the budget through the ONAT in a more transparent, cleaner and more honest way.
- Payment and collection operations can be carried out easily, quickly and safely.
- Helps manage finances.
- It offers security in the custody of the resources generated by the business.
- Allows you to receive accreditation for financing approved by the bank.
- Facilitates inclusion in customer bonuses.
- It enables you to apply for the Multibanca card and, through it, operate Kiosco.bandec.cu; Virtual Bandec/www.bandec.cu; Telephone Banking; Transfermóvil and Enzona.
