The Police also rushed to the scene with the help of which the transfer took place in a very short time.
The volunteer rescuer Des. Tastemiroglou, describes to ERT Larissa, her cool and anxious effort to save the life of a 3-year-old girl.
“We heard voices, from a father my child is drowning, pull the child out of the sea, but this one was bruised. This means it has been without oxygen for a long time. I immediately gave her cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and after a minute the little girl started to let out water. Fortunately an ambulance was near the area and within 15 minutes it arrived at the scene and picked her up.”
With these words, the volunteer rescuer Despina Tastemiroglou, speaking on the “Thessalian Periscope” program of ERT Larisa, describes the dramatic and anguished moments she experienced yesterday at noon on the beach of Messangalos in the prefecture of Larissa, as well as the life-saver as her intervention proved to be saving the life of the 3-year-old girl.
Mrs. Tasmemiroglou, is a volunteer rescuer of the Voluntary Rescue and Health Missions Team (EODYA) who is also a certified trainer from the European Resuscitation Organization.
Reacting mainly with composure but also making use of the valuable knowledge he has received, he kept the 3-year-old girl alive, while speaking to ERT Larissa he conveyed the central message of EODYA that “the more people know CPR, the more people can be saved…”.
