If fitness remains, I will bring medal in Paris Olympics: Athlete Arshad Nadeem

He added: ‘By the way, my fitness is excellent, if it is maintained, I will definitely bring a medal to Pakistan.’

The Pakistani athlete said that compared to him, there are javelin throwers from other countries besides India, who have more facilities.

Arshad Nadeem made history by becoming the first Pakistani athlete to qualify for the track and field finals at the Summer Olympics 2020 in Tokyo, Japan.

Similarly, at the Commonwealth Games 2022, he set a new national and Commonwealth Games record with a throw of 90.18 meters and became the first athlete from South Asia to cross the 90 mark.

In 2023, he became the first Pakistani athlete to win a medal at the World Athletics Championships by winning a silver medal.

The last gold medal won by Pakistan in Olympics

Pakistan has not won any gold medal in Olympic competitions for a long time. The Pakistan team, which ruled the hockey world for a long time, had the honor of winning gold medals in the 1960, 1968 and 1984 Olympics, while the Green Shirts won silver medals in 1956, 1964 and 1972 and bronze medals in 1976 and 1992.
