The Paris 2024 Olympic Games held their opening ceremony on July 26, where some 10,500 athletes were protagonists and at the same time spectators of a symbolic and unprecedented walk on the waters of the Seine River that ended at Trocadero next to the Eiffel Tower.

For Guatemala, the Paris 2024 Games will be its sixteenth presence at the largest multidisciplinary event in the world.

Since its first participation in Helsinki (Finland) in 1952, the country has only missed three editions (between 1956 and 1964); since Mexico 1968 to date, there has always been Guatemalan representation at the Olympic Games.

A total of 16 Guatemalan athletes have qualified for Paris 2024, either through continental access, records, ranking or by invitation.

When and at what time will Guatemalan athletes compete in Paris 2024?

Guatemala’s participation in the Paris Olympics will begin on July 27 with Jacqueline Solís in judo and Kevin Cordón in badminton, and will then extend until August 10 when Alberto González concludes the action in the marathon event.
