SINGER Celine Dion amazed the audience who attended the opening ceremony of the 2024 Paris Olympics, Saturday (27/7) early morning WIB, right after the lighting of the Olympic torch,
Lady Gaga opened the Olympic opening ceremony with a performance along the Seine River performing “Mon truc en plume” by Zizi Jeanmaire, a staple of French Music Hall shows in the 1950s.
Dion looked in top form as she belted out the high notes, wearing a stunning white sequined gown with fringe embellishments.
The superstar sang Edith Piaf’s classic “L’Hymne A l’Amour” to close the Olympic opening ceremony from the gleaming Eiffel Tower illuminated by the Olympic rings.
Accompanied by piano accompaniment and wearing a stunning white gown, the singer delivered an effortlessly flawless vocal as she belted out the lyrics to the 1950 song, which translates to “Hymn of Love.”
This live performance marks his first concert performance since revealing that he suffers from stiff person syndrome, “a rare and progressive syndrome that affects the nervous system, specifically the brain and spinal cord.

The 56-year-old singer announced in December 2022 that she would be taking a break from her career as a professional singer to focus on her health.
The last time the “My Heart Will Go On” singer performed live was in July 2019, in London, England.
Last month, Dion shared her story of her battle with the disease, which can cause involuntary seizures and muscle stiffness, in her new documentary “I Am: Celine Dion,” released on Amazon.

In an interview with NBC’s Hoda Kotb at the time, the singer said when she tried to sing it felt “like someone was strangling you.”
The seizures can affect different parts of the body, including the abdomen, spine and ribs, he said.
“I had a broken rib at one point because sometimes when it’s really bad, it can break a couple of ribs,” the Grammy winner said.
In her documentary, Dion said she was determined to make a comeback. And she did.
“If I can’t run, I’ll walk. If I can’t walk, I’ll crawl,” she said. “And I’m not going to stop. I’m not going to stop.” (CNN/P-5)
