Solar storm and blackout, what awaits us? The date to mark on the calendar –

NASA has warned. A solar storm could soon have significant effects on Earth. The Solar Dynamics Observatory (SDO) captured an eruption of dark plasma on the surface of the Sun on Sunday. In other words, a solar storm that could wreak havoc on our planet and trigger widespread blackouts. Another US agency, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), confirmed the news on Monday, warning in a statement that this emission of dark plasma could lead to “electrical grid fluctuations.” But what does it mean? What should we expect?

The eruption of dark plasma on the surface of the Sun is a phenomenon known as a “cold solar flare.” What is it? According to the National Daily, it is an “explosion of colder-than-average plasma, which is expelled from the surface of the Sun.” These phenomena can release a large amount of electromagnetic radiation, affecting the Earth’s atmosphere and creating disturbances in high-frequency (HF) communications and GPS navigation systems,” it says. According to NOAA, there is a 60% chance of a medium-level solar flare (class M) within the next 24 hours and a 15% chance of an even more extreme class X flare.

Which means, in concrete terms, that satellite communication systems, GPS networks and television and radio broadcasts could be seriously compromised. The impact of radiation is expected by Friday, but the geomagnetic storm warning does not exclude that the phenomenon could continue until Saturday. Experts anticipate preparing for possible interruptions in communications and electrical services. The advice is to stay updated to be prepared and to try to address and minimize the effects of this solar storm on our lives.
