On the evening of Thursday 25 July, the friends of the Municipal Mobile Cinema watched in the neighborhood of the Nursing Home “Language of the Butterfly”, a film that is a sample of modern Spanish Cinema, masterfully given by the excellent José Luis Cuerda.
“The Butterfly’s Tongue” told the story of Moncho, an eight-year-old boy who at the end of ’36 goes to school beginning his term of learning and life, guided by his quirky teacher.
The world of the young student in the summer of the same year collapses when the Spanish Civil War breaks out with the values and principles that the teacher has instilled in him being overturned by the stifling of democracy by the Franco regime. As a result of what the Frankish dictatorship brought to “suffer” a violent and traumatic coming of age…
The film will be shown again on Sunday, July 28 in Arachovitika. screening is done in collaboration with the Cervantes Institute.
Starring: Manuel Lozano, Fernando Fernán Gómez, Uxía Blanco
