Edmundo González signs agreement with 7 guidelines to follow if he wins the elections (+DOCUMENT)

This Thursday, July 25, the opposition candidate Edmundo Gonzalezand the leader of Vente Venezuela, Maria Corina Machadothey offered a press conference, in which they signed an agreement that they called “the spirit of July 28th”.

González again urged all Venezuelans to vote next Sunday.

We have only a few hours left to take that step. On June 28th we must all go out to vote. The advantage we have is historic in an electoral process like this (…) We trust that the Armed Forces will enforce the will of our people.“, said the candidate.

He also called on public employees to remind them that the “vote is secret.”We are not here to take away anyone’s job. We are going to vote on Sunday and on Monday we will be able to say that reconciliation, hope and peace have arrived.”.

Agreement “The spirit of July 28”

During the press conference, Edmundo González and María Corina Machado signed an agreement on seven guidelines to follow after a possible victory in the presidential elections.

The agreement is composed of 7 guidelines:

• 1) Restoration of freedoms
• 2) Political unity to move forward led by Edmundo and María Corina and integrated by all parties
• 3) National consensus on important issues
• 4)Civility, political relations based on respect
• 5) Restore the rule of law
• 6) Reunion and justice
• 7) Sense of urgency to undertake changes
