Government: declarations of reliability for companies will be issued faster | Business

The Cabinet of Ministers agreed on Wednesday that the Innovation Agency will not need to be informed about NATO tenders, and only the Department of Informatics and Communications, instead of 13 institutions, will provide information about violations of international sanctions.

According to Deputy Minister Erika Kurochkina, after the changes are adopted, companies will be issued reliability declarations faster.

“In this way, we will have more operative processes, and companies will be able to join tenders organized by NATO more quickly”, E. Kurochkina said in the ministry’s statement.

According to the government’s decision, VPT NATO will have to submit a list of companies with valid declarations of reliability at the request of the organizers of the NATO competition.

At that time, the Innovation Agency will only provide a direct link to the VPT website on its website, where information about NATO tenders is provided. According to the ministry, due to such a change, the Innovation Agency will inform only about relevant purchases.

The government also decided that companies wishing to participate in NATO tenders will have to provide data and information about their supervisory bodies, if such are established.

At the beginning of June, the Seimas specified and expanded the criteria for declarations of reliability for companies wishing to participate in NATO procurement.

At the proposal of President Gitanas Nausėda, the condition is included in the criteria that the declaration is issued when the company seeking to participate in NATO tenders or the persons related to it have not been recognized as having violated international sanctions or restrictive measures in the last three years.

According to the presidency, the expanded wording would cover all cases where companies, their managers, chief accountants violated international sanctions.

The declaration of reliability confirms the financial, technical, professional and security reliability of the legal entity, which allows participation in NATO tenders.

These declarations can be issued only to those legal entities that meet strict reliability criteria, including impeccable reputation, transparent operations and loyalty to Lithuania.
