He was born on September 9, 1946 in Prague. He graduated from the Secondary School of Economics in Prague, then studied acting at the Theater Academy of Performing Arts. For many years he worked in regional theaters in Most and Cheb.
He shot documentaries about France, he has a series of interviews with Jean-Paul Belmond, Jean Marais, Annie Girardot, Pierre Richard and others. He was the author of scripts for documentary series and films at Czech Television.
He appeared on cinema screens in the films I Served the English King (2006) or Doctor from Hippo Lake (2010). He also played in the series Kriminálka Anděl, About the Dead Only Good, Perfect World, Christmas in the Caribbean, Countess and Meadows Opposite.
For many years he worked as a presenter at Czech Radio. He wrote several books, among which are the novel I, Vincent or the mosaic of Provence stories known and unknown. As a translator from French, he translated more than a hundred books and dozens of plays.
