Sought Security from the Court
In fact, an FIR was registered against this lawyer who is running a brothel in Nagercoil, Kanyakumari. The petitioner came to the court to get this FIR quashed and requested the judge for security to run the brothel.
Imposed a Fine of 10 Thousand Rupees
Upon hearing the lawyer’s demand, Justice B Pugalanthi’s bench dismissed the petition and expressed considerable anger toward the lawyer. The bench also imposed a fine of 10 thousand rupees on the petitioner lawyer.
The Court Instructed the Bar Council
According to a report by Live Law, the court also instructed the State Bar Council to ensure that members are only enrolled from reputable institutions, and to prohibit enrollment from non-reputable institutions in Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, and other states.
Justice B Pugalanthi stated that it is the right time for the Bar Council to realize this.
