Deadpool & Wolverine: How Many Post-Credits Scenes Does It Have And What Do They Mean For The Future Of The MCU?

Deadpool & Wolverine is about to hit Mexican theaters, sparking curiosity about the film’s post-credits scenes and an explanation of its content.

The film premieres next Thursday, July 25, not counting the pre-release screenings that will take place on Wednesday, July 24, starting at 7 p.m. However, at Infobae Mexico we have already been able to see the film and therefore, we can tell you what those long-awaited scenes after the credits are about and what they mean for the future of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU).

Needless to say, this text will be full of SPOILERS, so if you don’t want to ruin your experience of watching the film for the first time, and spoil several surprises in the process, we recommend that you come back to this text once you see Deadpool & Wolverine in theaters.

The answer is yes. The highly anticipated Marvel Studios film honors studio tradition and features two scenes: one in the middle of the credits and another at the end of them.

However, it is worth noting that the first of them, rather than being an additional scene that adds something important to the story, is rather a tribute to the entire Marvel era that was created under the 20th Century FOX label, a studio that was later bought by Disney and disappeared along with a large part of these characters.

In this first scene, several behind-the-scenes scenes from films related to the X-Men franchise are compiled, which was largely directed by filmmaker Bryan Singer. It was precisely from these films that Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine first emerged, so the segment does not skimp on showing moments of the much younger actor during his beginnings with the character.

Other films that are honored in the clip are Elektra (2005) with Jennifer Garner, Blade (1998) with Wesley Snipes, Daredevil (2003) with Ben Affleck and many others.

This segment is both a tribute and a farewell to many of these characters. In addition to the participation of actors such as Garner, Snipes and Channing Tatum throughout the central plot of Deadpool & Wolverine, and its remarkable ending, what Marvel Studios wants to make clear with this post-credits scene is that they are ending the Marvel/Fox era.

In the plot of Deadpool & Wolverine we witness how the big mouth Deadpool is responsible for Nova (Charles Xavier’s sister) removing Johnny Storm played by Chris Evans from the void – and from life itself.

So the irreverent character played by Ryan Reynolds sneaks into the TVA (Time Variance Authority) to correct the recordings of that moment. He says he can’t live with the “unfounded accusations” that it was his fault that the famous Human Torch from Fantastic Four was killed.

The scene shows Johnny expressing “pests” and bad words about Nova, which corroborates what Deadpool will later tell the villain, which is why she skins the poor member of the Fantastic Four alive.

The second post-credits scene is mostly a comedy moment that only adds one thing to the future of the MCU: Deadpool being free of all blame.
